Starter Kit Oil – Digize

Ok, I’ll be honest. Digize does not smell the greatest. My boyfriend thinks it stinks actually. But keep reading… I promise it gets better!

Digize is a blend of tarragon, juniper, anise, ginger, fennel, patchouli, peppermint, lemongrass – basically all the things for happy digestion! As the name suggests, and if you haven’t figured out yet – digize is for digestive support. It is approved as a Natural Health Product (NHP) by Health Canada for relieving and calming digestive discomfort.

Since I have extremely sensitive skin, I cannot apply this oil without a carrier oil (my favourite is Young Living V-6). So when I made all my roller bottle blends I made a tummy roller and kind of tossed it aside (I know, I know!). Fast forward a couple weeks and I found myself sick with some kind of stomach bug unable to keep anything down (sorry, TMI!) so I didn’t think I’d be able to handle the smell of digize when my boyfriend asked if I wanted any oils. But I grabbed my tummy roller anyways, rolled it counterclockwise around my belly button and quickly covered myself in blankets to keep the smell from getting out! Ok, it’s not THAT BAD but when everything makes you feel nauseous… you don’t want to be smelling it all day LOL!

I am not kidding when I say I felt the nauseous feeling drift away.  It worked and it worked fast! I couldn’t believe it. I was even able to start eating about half an hour later. Although I will add that each person is different and people may notice different results…. these are just my experiences!

Digize is also a great oil to apply before or after a meal to help with digestion or with after dinner bloating! Apply clockwise around the bellybutton to speed things up and counterclockwise to slow things down… sounds weird but this is the way our intestines run!

This was not one of my go-to-oils for day to day use but I can tell you this… next time I come down with a bug I do not want to be without my digize roller! It’s a great lesson that it’s not always about what oils smells the prettiest or what make your home smell the freshest but it’s about what works.
